You may remember my article called Music As A Marketing Tool. In short, Earache Records partnered with RapidShare to release Gama Bomb’s Tales From The Grave In Space as a free download. The idea was to grow the band’s fanbase, and to promote physical product sales. So it begins!
Here is what Earache sent me via email:
Hello!
We hope you enjoyed your free download of Gama Bomb’s new album, ‘Tales from the Grave in Space’.
We now have some good news for CD and vinyl lovers… If you enjoyed Gama Bomb’s frantically fun hits on your free ‘Tales from the Grave in Space’ download, you’ll be pleased to know that from Monday, 25th January in Europe and March 8th in the USA, you can get the album on CD and vinyl!
And as you’ve already heard the album, we thought we’d come up with some great offers for you.
‘Tales from the Grave in Space’ is available on CD, including the awesome comic-book style booklet, for just £4.99 or €5,54 EUR!!!
They’ve also put together several more packaged deals at very reasonable prices. I’m looking at the Limited Edition Color Vinyl LP/T-Shirt combo for $40. You can view all of the offers at the Earache Webstore.
Rest assured, I am not Gama Bomb’s publicist, nor am I employed by Earache Records. The purpose of this article was to follow up on the Earache/Gama Bomb experiment. I am truly interested in the results of this free download marketing campaign.
Let me get with Earache Records and I’ll post another follow up in the near future.

This is why I need you! For the life of me, I can’t remember why I didn’t include that video in my original post. As far as updates, I spoke w/Al Dawson, U.S. label manager. He put me in touch w/Anthony Guzzardo, U.S. press manager. Let’s see how this plays out!
Coolness. Be very interested in hearing updates.
